Guide: Generating and Applying a Discount Code in a Two-Part Order Form
Discount codes and promotional offers are powerful tools that can encourage prospective buyers to complete their purchases. These strategies are particularly useful in e-commerce, where the main objective is to convert site visitors into paying customers. This guide is divided into two sections: how to create coupons and how to create promo codes.
Section 1: Creating Coupons
Introduction
Coupons within the CRM provide a way to apply either a fixed amount or a percentage-based discount to one-time purchases. Keep in mind that this feature does not work with subscription-based items.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Generate a Coupon Code: Go to the Payments section and select "Coupon."
2. Complete the Required Fields: Fill in the necessary details, including whether the discount is a fixed amount or a percentage.

3. Set a Time Frame: Define the start and end dates for the coupon’s validity.
4. Add Coupons to Checkout: For coupons that offer a 100% discount, customers will still need to provide card information for verification purposes, especially when upsell options are involved. This feature works with Stripe but is not compatible with PayPal.
Section 2: Creating Promo Codes
Introduction
Promo codes allow a hidden discounted item to be shown on the order form when the code is entered, simultaneously removing the full-priced item from view. This method is useful for offering special pricing to a targeted group of customers.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare Your Products: Ensure that all the necessary products have been added to your sales funnel.

2. Custom Code for Promo Codes: Edit the funnel step that contains the two-step order form. In the Order Form settings, go to the Advanced section and enable the "Coupon Codes" option.

3. Test Your Promo Code: Preview the page and check that the discount appears correctly when the promo code is used.
